- Clarithromycin (Biaxin) - not to exceed 1000mg/day
- Some variants of Mycoplasma pneumoniae are resistant
- Effective for 85% of Chlamydia pneumoniae
- Well tolerated by children
- Azithromycin
- Well tolerated by children
- Erythromycin (older macrolide)
- less stable, poorer absorbed and less tolerated than newer macrolides
It is suggested that Hydroxychloroquine
should be taken concurrently with these
